Competition Rules and Regulations

  1. Each member can enter up to two projected images and four prints ( 2 Colour and 2 Black & White) in any club competition. The top scoring entry will count towards the "Colour Shield", the "Black and White Shield", the "Veale Trophy" and the "Photographer of the Year" award. This excludes the "AGW" competition, for which both projected images will count and the highest total wins.
  2. Projected Image entries must be entered to the projectionist 'NO LATER THAN NOON' on the Sunday before the competition.
  3. Print entries must be handed in to the competition secretaries by 8:15 pm otherwise the entry fee will be doubled.
  4. Any projected image or print that has been previously used in an internal competition cannot be used in another internal competition other than in the Projected Image or Print of the year competition. However, Projected Images or Prints used in external competitions are eligible for use in the monthly internal competitions.
  5. B&W or Colour competition prints may be trade processed and should have a maximum mount size of 20" X 16" -  50cm X 40cm unless stated otherwise.
  6. All entries for "Print and Projected Image of the Year" must be handed in at least one week prior to the competition. No exceptions. A maximum of two may be entered in each category.

Trophies

  • Photographer of the Year. Awarded to the club member who has the highest cumulative score of their top score entry in each monthly competition throughout the calendar year.
  • Club Trophy. Second place in above competition.
  • Ryalls Trophy. Third place in the above competition.
  • Ron Harrison Award. Awarded to the winner of the "Images of People" competition in the monthly competitions.
  • Chadwick Trophy. Awarded to the winner of the "Earthscape" competition in the monthly competitions.
  • Hughes Trophy. Awarded to the winner of the annual print of the year competition (B&W or Colour).
  • Projected Image of the Year (Titles required). Awarded to the winner of the annual Projected Image of the year competition
  • AGW Sheild. Awarded to the winner of the open colour Projected Image competition.
  • Veale Trophy. Awarded to the club member who has the highest aggregate of marks for Colour Prints in monthly competitions.
  • Bingham Shield. Awarded to the member who has the highest aggregate of marks for Black and White pictures in the print section of the monthly competitions.
  • Hattersley Shield. Awarded to the member who has the highest aggregate of marks in the Projected Image section of the monthly competitions.
  • Chairman Trophy. Awarded to the photographer in the intermediate section who has the highest cumulative score of their top score entry in each monthly competition throughout the year. This member then moves into the advanced section and can no longer be considered for this trophy in the future.
