• Re-installing Windows XP without losing your files and setup - Tony Godwin
  Boot from CD and choose to reinstall (not repair). Accept the XP license agreement. Make sure you install into the current Windows folder. Once that is done you will get a window letting you choose to reinstall or repair. Choose repair. It looks as if it is doing a full replacement until it reboots, and then you will have your old files back.
