Nov Earthscapes

Our annual Earthscapes competition took place in November. As always, we had some wonderful entries, ranging from rural to urban landscapes with seascapes featured as well.

First place went to Dave Jones’s image of the ‘plughole’ at Derwent reservoir.

Ian Clay’s atmospheric shot of a woodland path took second.

It was a good month for Dave Jones, with his long exposure jetty image taking third place. 

Oct Images of People Colour

As always our members delivered some very strong images for our annual Images of People competition.

First place went to Martin Satur’s photograph of his grandchild.

Don Jacklin’s emotive image came second.

There was a tie for third place, with images by Neil Frith, Darren Worthy, Dave Jones, Ian Clay and Alyson Evans all scoring the same!

Oct Images of People Mono

As always our members delivered some very strong images for our annual Images of People competition.

First place went to Dave Jones’ image of someone he photographed on a club trip to Sheffield.

Ian Clay’s photograph of a man (and a bear!) enjoying an ice cream came second.

A shot of someone returning by boat from a dirty job by Martin Satur came in third.

Sept Flora and Fauna

September saw a fantastic selection of images of plants and animals submitted by members for the Fauna and Flora projected image competition.

First place went to David Barnett’s bee.

It was a good month for Martin Satur with his spider image taking second place.

Third place went to Martin’s dragonfly photograph.

June Close Up colour

Members made some creative decisions for our June close up print competition, with a range of shots that encompassed fauna and flora, still life and aviation!

Dave Jones’ two entries (a water drop and a flower) both took joint first place!

Third place went to Martin Satur’s duck.

First place went to Neil Frith’s image of a cow’s eye.

Martin Satur’s twisted spider came second.

A shot of a five pence piece by Dave Jones came in third.

May Triptych

We got lots more images to view in May, with our Triptych projected image competition.

First place went to Martin Satur’s detailed images of a bi5rd in flight. wheel.

Darren Worthy’s triptych of his son came second.

In third place, we had Dave Jones’ Union flags.

April Glass Mono

Entries to April’s Glass competition varied widely from shots of stained glass windows to more creative interpretations of the theme.

The monochrome competition was very close, with 2 images sharing the top spot – Martin Satur’s receding cups and Nick Wheat’s walkway scene.

David Barnett’s simple image of milk pouring came third.

April Glass Colour

Entries to April’s Glass competition varied widely from shots of stained glass windows to more creative interpretations of the theme.

First place in the colour competition went to David Barnett’s light bulb.

Ian Clay’s skyline from below came second.

Third place was shared by Martin Satur’s shelf and Nick Wheat’s complex window.

March Wheels competition

March’s projected image competition had the theme of ‘Wheels’.

First place went to Martin Satur’s precise image of a bike wheel.

David Barnett’s beautiful pocket watch came second.

In third place, we had Dave Jones’ gear wheels.
