Our second print competition of the year saw a wide variety of styles and subjects falling under the theme of ‘street life’.
First place in the monochrome category went to new member, Don Jacklin’s evocative image of a man who only sees one way out of his predicament.
Tony Godwin’s photograph of a world-weary artists came second.
Third place went to Dave McLeavy’s image of an Italian artist and statue.

First place went to Dave McLeavy’s image of Anish Kapoor’s Cloud Gate sculpture (also known as the Bean!) in Chicago.
Marie Rollitt’s busker in York came second.
Third place was taken by Doug Veale’s image of a Crich reenactor taking a well earned break.
Another good month for Pam Fisher in the ‘Still Life’ projected image competition. Pam’s photo of a hungry bird winning Pam her second 1st place of the year.
Nostalgia was the theme for the images that came in second and third place.
Jill Davies’ black and white image of books came in second.
Third place was taken by Steve Murphy’s laid table from a bygone age.
The 2016 competition calendar began with the ‘open’ category, one that many club members find very hard to score.
Darren Worthy’s image of an unknown climber at Stanage took first place, despite confusion over which way to display the image!
Dave McLeavy’s picture of a picturesque rural landscape took second.
Jill Davies’ picture of her grandson came third.
2016 got off to a good start with a wonderful selection of images entered into our first competition.
Pam Fisher came first with her image of a very soggy Ossie.
In a close run competition we had 2 pictures scoring the same and taking second place jointly: Marie Rollitt’s picture of the Angel of the North and Paul Beckett’s image of Brugge.

The ‘Images of People’ print competition that ended 2015 saw a strong showing for one of the members of the club.
Tony Godwin’s image of an old-timer took first.
Tony’s self-protrait (look closely at the sunglasses!) also came joint second along with Steve Memmott’s well lit image.
And so it’s arrived – the final competition of 2015!
First place went to Steve Memmott’s striking image.
Tony Godwin’s image of another club member took second place.
Third place went to Daren Worthy’s image of Kate, taken at a club night earlier in the year.
The penultimate competition of 2015 saw some wonderful flora and fauna images being displayed in Dronfield’s Peel Centre.
First place was taken by Steve Murphy’s beautiful picture of a rose, which was the highest scoring image from any competition this year!
It was a good week for Marie Rollit too, with her image of a squirrel taking second place.
Marie took third place as well, with one of her usual, high quality bird images.
