This year, Dronfield Camera Club celebrates its 60th anniversary, and June’s print competition reflected this.

First place went to Derek Vintin’s photo of a sand race with a suitably numbered competitor.

Neil Frith took second place with his trophy image.

Third place went to Darren Worthy’s more abstract shot capturing the essence of reaching 60.

A plethora of purple images were entered into May’s competition with the theme of the Colour Purple.

Second place went to Neil Frith’s mesmerising and fluid smoke photograph.

Martin Satur’s graceful purple flower came third.

April’s monochrome print competition saw a range of sports captured for the top three images.

First place went to Darren Worthy’s photo of a finisher at the very wet Dronfield 10k in 2024.

Nick Wheat’s packed Pride Park, Derby came second.

Third place went to a shot from Neil Frith’s recent trip to the Bridlington beach races.

April’s print competition had a huge range of images entered, from full throated motorbike racing to much more sedate board games.

First place went to Neil Frith’s photo of trike racing on Bridlington’s beach.

Darren Worthy’s image of the Fox and Geese board game (appropriately taken at the Fox and Goose pub!) came second.

Neil was joined by Martin Satur on his trip to Bridlington, and two of Martin’s images from the day came joint third in this competition!

March’s family pets competition saw club members scoring lots of images of cats and dogs, along with some more unusual pets such as horses and lizards.

Martin Satur’s soulful image of a dog came second.

Third place went to Neil Frith’s dog who’s had enough!

Our first print competition of the year saw many strong entries from club members.

First place went to Martin Satur’s photo of tools and a blueprint.

Dave Jones’ tool that’s critical for the club came second.

As always, January saw the AGW Open projected image competition.

First place went to Darren Worthy’s abstract image of water droplets on some form of webbing.

Dave Jones’ image of a natural dew lens took second place.

Third place went to Neil Frith’s inquisitive lizard.

David Barnett took 3rd place with ‘Light Bulb Moment’.

‘Fire and Ice’ by David Barnett, ‘Sharing an Ice Cream’ by Ian Clay and ‘Preserved in Glass’ by Martin Satur were all Highly Commended.

Darren Worthy’s ‘P.I.’, Dave Jones’ ‘Cold Comfort’ and Ian Clay’s ‘Blue Sky Thoery’ were all Commended.

First place went to ‘Vertigo’ by Dane Jones.

‘Misty Morning’ by Mandy Hodgson came 2nd.

David Barnett took 3rd place with ‘Masonry Bee at Rest’.

‘I Used to be Famous’ by Dave Jones, ‘Jellyfish Rising’ by Darren Worthy and ‘Hanging On’ by Ian Clay were all Highly Commended.

Dave Jones’ ‘Smoke on the Water’ and Don Jacklin’s ‘Stourhead Picnic’ were both Commended.
